                               COMMODORE BARRY PARK BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

Afro punk 2012 was the most amazing event i have ever been to. It was like all of the people around me were in the same state of mind as i. Not only was it filled with hundreds of people gathered around to listen to talented Artist and Bands. But those same hundreds of  people were all united and accepting to originality and people being themselves to the clothes, dancing, and, music. I felt allot of love and peace as people greeted me while i walked around the park. I even got the chance to spit a lil something for the people gathered around me.

On the left side of the park i got to see my first performance of Oxymorron a band from Brooklyn NY. They were really good their sound was  rock and roll, rap, pop it had the crowd moving and grooving. I did not get the name to some of their songs but i will definitively try to get it from someone who knows the bands music well. I also got to see The Queen of all things Dope Miss Erykah Badu she performed her songs "love of my life".Also she brought out a surprise guest: Mos def. "Blue Afro", "Didn't Cha know", and other new songs she free styled on the spot with her beat maker and band behind her which made my night even sweeter. Her performance left an impact on me that i will never forget.  Afro punk was definitively the place to be this summer i enjoyed myself so much.
